A warm welcome to Holly!

We are delighted to welcome Holly Powell-Main to the team in a brand new role as Associates Programme Officer for Ballet Cymru!

Holly grew up in Mid Wales where she started dancing locally, before moving onto Tring Park School for the Performing Arts for her vocational training. She then went onto further training in Ballet Education at the Royal Academy of Dance in London where she graduated with a BA (Hons).

Holly has performed for BBC’s The One Show, Strictly Come Dancing, on the main stage at MOVE IT, and The Patron’s Lunch Parade, including the special finale with Darcey Bussell, dedicated to Her Majesty the Queen.

Holly has a passion for inclusivity in dance, a keen interest in dance science, and how this can improve and develop a dancer’s technique.

Holly was selected for the role of Associate Programme Officer to support Amy and the Education team in delivering the company’s increasingly popular pre-vocational ballet course.

Amy Doughty, Project Lead for the Associates Programme, said;

“It is a real pleasure to be working with Holly on our Associate Programme. Demand for the programme has been increasing each year and we wanted to ensure we could accommodate this demand while continuing to offer our associates the best training, learning and experiences Ballet Cymru can provide. With Holly’s assistance, we will continue to provide a nurturing environment for our associates whilst also seeking out new opportunities to celebrate the incredible range of talent of these young dancers. Holly shares many of the qualities and ethos we advocate here at Ballet Cymru and we are delighted to be welcoming her onto the team”.
